One of the most prestigious and biggest dog shows in the country is held every February in our club’s backyard, New York City. (Due to the pandemic, the 2021 Westminster show was held in Tarrytown, NY, at the Lyndhurst Mansion.) In February of 2020, Madeline, GCH Dakota N’ Prestige’s Take Me Home, took to the green carpet at Pier 94 for her first time as well as member Beth Johnson. Under breeder judge Eva Berg, Madeline was owner handled and awarded Select bitch in a quality line up filled with bitches from throughout the country including many ranked in the Top 20. We are so proud of our brown goofy girl who never ceases to amaze us whether in the show ring or the whelping box.
With more than 80% of dog shows being cancelled due to the worldwide pandemic of Covid-19, Prestige still managed to get to some shows and is pleased to introduce four new champions.
Prestige N Dakota’s Hold on my Heart, Sophie finished her championship just prior to the shutdown with her third major at the Dalmatian Club of Greater Indianapolis supported entry show. Sophie is owned and lives with Sue Buse and is co-owned with Prestige. We are planning a summer litter with her.
BISS GCHB Prestige N CarriageHill’s Settin’ the World Afire, Blaze started and finished her championship just before the shutdown by only 8.5 months of age with three majors including a Best of Breed of multiple top ranked specials. During the year she continued to show when she could and obtained her grand championship, her bronze grand championship and became a Top 20 Dalmatian in the country before 2020 ended. Blaze is owned and lives with Amber Spradlin and is co-owned with Prestige. We can’t wait to see what 2021 brings.
CH Prestige Island Song Kona Kala, Kala finished her championship with five majors during Covid-19 and took advantage of her limited outings by making them count. She will start working on her grand championship and has already added multiple performance titles to her name including trick dog and barn hunt. Kala is owned and lives with Denise and Larry Achram and is co-owned with Prestige. We look forward to what the future holds in the conformation and performance rings and just maybe the whelping box.
CH Prestige’s Great Gatsby, Fitz picked up his first major the weekend before everything shut down and had limited outings during Covid. He finished his championship with four majors including a Best of Opposite Sex (to his sister Blaze) over multiple specials completely owner handled from the Bred By Exhibitor class. Fitz is owned and lives with Amanda Burd and is co-owned with Prestige.
Aoife (pronouned eefa), born August 10, 2014, is looking for a forever home. Unfortunately, the owner is experiencing health issues. This quiet, loving girl would make a beautiful pet. Aoife has been spayed and would do best in a home alone or with one other male dog. Please contact Peggy Rogan if you are interested, 631-523-4432.
